we were in berlin earlier this week and had a FANTASTIC meal at ETA Hoffman on yorckstrasse in kreuzberg! about 100 euros for 2 with wine, aperitif...

MK, there are many many options available. I generally go for the more exotic ones. So here are some.

Blue Nile, an Ethiopian restaurant at Templehofer 6 near Mockernbrucke U-Bahn is worth a visit - try the special Honnigwein! There%26#39;s a decent Iranian one on Reinhardstrasse in Mitte district near Oranienburger Str S-Bahn. (There%26#39;s also a Thai restaurant beside the same metro stop.) In fact the whole zone between the metros Oranienburger Tor and Oranienburger Str has lots of different options - Cuban, Indian, Singapore etc. Be a bit careful in the lower part of Oranienburger Str though (heading towards Hackesher Markt) It has really good bars but is also a red light area and thus a bit seedy after dark.

We have been to the Kartoffelkeller at Albrechtstrasse and eaten very well and not too expensive there. Of course depends on what you choose. You could check the menu before deciding, there are at least 4 other restaurants right next to it.

For example a nice Portuguese with lovely fresh fish offers.
