Frankfurt HBF train station

Can someone tell me if the station has shower and baggage facilities?

Also, if the station has a safe area to spend a few hours at night as it seems pointless getting a hotel room for 3 to 4 hours.

And finally, if I want to see a place or two between 8 and 10am, are there any sights you would advice which are central?

I would definitely NOT spend a night at Frankfurt Hbf! It is one of the most criminal areas in all Germany.

What weekday would you need to stay over? Since there is no curview in Germany several bars, pubs or nightclubes will be open all night.

There are plenty of lockers in all sizes. Depending on the size of the box it%26#39;s between €2 and €4 for up to 72 hours.

There are several sights close by. It%26#39;s especially pleasant and pretty to walk along the river%26#39;s embankment in the early morning as you can watch the city wake up and see plenty of sights at the same time.

Let us know a little bit more about yourself, your interests, the weekday you%26#39;re traveling etc. and us locals will help you with more information and some tips...

Andreas,

I%26#39;d be interested in any thoughts you had about a late arrival to the Frankfurt Main station. Undecided on our flight in to Frankfurt or out of Frankfurt but one possibility has us taking a click/rail fare from sbb.com but it arrives at 11:30pm. We%26#39;d be spending 2-3 days in Rhine/Bacharach area before flying out of Frankfurt. From your post sounds like not a good idea to hang around the station until morning.

If you%26#39;re a group of people or so you%26#39;re fine. There are a few fast food restaurants at the airport but I think they close during the night. There is a pretty decent hotel called Steigenberger Metropolitain just across from the hotel. You might be able to spend the night at their bar area.

The problem with the Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof area is that unfortunately it%26#39;s directly connected with the red light district where the mafias from Moldova, the Ukraine, Russia, Italy and other countries protect their interests. Plus at night there are plenty of junkies who need to make some quick and easy money... Security is very high but still it just isn%26#39;t very pleasant there at night.
